Thank You!

I’ve been amazed at how kind, encouraging, and supportive the Kotlin community has been since I started writing articles in 2017!

When you’re reading to learn something, it’s important that you can stay focused on the text. That’s why I don’t put random third-party advertisements throughout the articles on this website - advertisements are, by their nature, designed to distract you. The only advertisement I include is a link to the Leanpub edition of Kotlin: An Illustrated Guide, at the end of each chapter, and on a few pages that aren’t articles.

Since this site isn’t ad-supported, some readers have asked how they can support me in my efforts - and I’m so thankful for that! Here are a few ways:

Kotlin: An Illustrated Guide

The most effective way to support me is to pick up a copy of the Leanpub edition of Kotlin: An Illustrated Guide. You can set your own price, starting as low as $15, and Leanpub keeps only 20% of the sales price. The Leanpub edition of the book is in PDF format, so you can read offline, using your favorite PDF tools to highlight and take notes. Plus, you’ll also get early access to draft chapters as I write them, and you can provide feedback on those chapters before they get published on the website here.

TypeAlias Merch

For those of you who like my artwork, you can check out my merchandise shop on RedBubble. Much of the artwork found on typealias.com or in my YouTube videos is included in the shop, so you can get mugs, stickers, T-shirts, and more with drawings like Mr. Grumpy Recalcitrant Man, Bert’s Snips & Clips (from Chapter 7), and Archimedes (from Chapter 1). Besides things related to my Kotlin content, you’ll also find other cartoons I’ve drawn.

Whether you pick up the PDF, order some merch, or even if you just hang out to learn something from this website, I’m absolutely honored to have you as a reader!
